DR. MELVYN
DAVID WOLF,
91, of Flint, died
Feb. 6, 2024.
Dr. Wolf was a
loving, dedicated
and devoted son, husband,
father, grandfather and
great-grandfather. Born Aug.
10, 1932, Melvyn was a bril-
liant and wonderful individu-
al who had profound impact
on the lives of those around
him.
He served his country with
honor and distinction as a
captain and doctor of the U.S.
Army in Fort Benning, Ga.,
from 1958 to 1960. Melvyn
completed his orthopedic
residency in Cincinnati and
pursued a successful career
as an orthopedic surgeon
at Flint McLaren Hospital.
He also held the position
of Residency Director for
Orthopedic Surgery. His
dedication and training of
residents positively impacted
countless lives.
Beyond his professional
and family commitments,
Melvyn had a passion for
collecting pewter and was a
partner with his wife, Bette
Wolf, in Wolf Pewter. He
also enjoyed indulging in his
hobby of model railroading,
which brought him joy and
relaxation.
Melvyn is survived by his
beloved wife of nearly 70
years, Bette Aaron Wolf; their
children, Larry Wolf (Mara),
Marty Wolf (Michelle), Mitch
Wolf (Suzanne), and Andrea
Block (Peter Block). He was
a cherished grandfather to
Zachary Wolf, Kayley (Boris
Raskin); great-grandfather
to Braxton, Ziva, Abby
Wolf, Jessica (Norman
Schwartz), Sadie, Drew
Delucchi (Rakell), Scarlet,

August, Stephanie Wolf (Srini
Jayaraman), Benjamin Wolf
(Kate Snyder), Eleanor, Jacob
Ferrall Wolf (Isa), Sam Block
(Elyssa Cherney), Caleb,
Molly Block and Nate Block.
He will be deeply missed by
all who knew him and his
memory will forever remain
in their hearts.

requests that contributions be

close to Melvyn’s heart: Juvenile

ALAN EDWARD
ZOHOTT, 84, of
Haslett, Mich.,
passed away Feb.
2, 2024.
He was born
Jan. 1, 1940, in Detroit, son
of Thomas and Lena (Stein)
Zohott.
Alan was a 1958 graduate
of Detroit Mumford High
School. Following graduation,
he enlisted in the U.S. Marine
Corps, where he served until
1960. Upon his discharge, he
re-enlisted in the U.S. Army
and served from 1960-1964.
After his military service,
Alan graduated from Aquinas
College in Grand Rapids,
with a bachelor’s degree in
business. He worked in data
processing (early stages of
I.T.) early in his career and
then in sales for many, many
years.
Alan was a longtime mem-
ber of Congregation Shaarey

Zedek in East Lansing, a
member of the V.F.W. in
Haslett, enjoyed bowling and
was an avid MSU sports fan,
especially hockey and foot-
ball.
Mr. Zohott is survived by
his wife of 59 years, Carolyn
(Hack) Zohott; their chil-
dren, Marni Zohott and
Rick (Rena) Zohott; grand-
children, Victoria (Chris)
Raia and Chandler Zohott;
nieces, Ruth (Rick) Duyck
and Debbie Bergman; sister-
in-law, Judie Pratt.
He was preceded in death
by his parents and his sister,
Phyllis Litwak.
Funeral services were held
at Congregation Shaarey
Zedek, East Lansing.
Interment followed at
Evergreen Cemetery in
Lansing. Contributions may
be made to Congregation
Shaarey Zedek, 1924
Coolidge Road, East Lansing
or Ingham County Medical
Care Facility on Dobie Road.
