2013.
Jacob is now the chief
advancement officer at
JARC in Bloomfield Hills,
a nonprofit organization
that supports adults with
developmental disabilities
in the home of their choice.
Throughout his time at
JARC, Jacob jumped into
various roles to support
the changing needs of the
organization, especially
during the COVID-19
pandemic. He is currently
pursuing his MBA at Walsh
College.
Jacob also serves as the
chair for the Residential
Provider Group for the
Network of Jewish Human
Service Agencies. This
national group brings
together likeminded
Jewish agencies to discuss
best practices and share
challenges and triumphs
in the field. Jacob is
also a member of the
Oakland County Health
Department’s Community
Health Assessment Team,
ensuring the needs of
people with disabilities are
a priority for the county.
Outside of work, Jacob
has dedicated his time and
passion to organizations
in the Detroit Jewish
community. Jacob was a
community representative
for JDC, helping Detroiters
get a better understanding
of Jewish communities
around the world. He
was a fellow at OneTable,
bringing intention to
Shabbat dinners to
Detroiters during the
pandemic. Jacob was a

camper, staff, supervisor
and met his wife at
Tamarack Camps and has
served on committees and
hosted Israeli campers
during the summer.
In his free time, Jacob
enjoys going to the Detroit
Institute of Arts, cooking
and reading. People
might not know that he
also tutors b’nai mitzvah
students through Temple
Beth El and occasionally
reads Torah at the
Isaac Agree Downtown
Synagogue. Jacob lives in
Southfield with his wife,
Laura, and adorable puggle,
Rashi.

BRITTANY
(BORSEN)
SHREEMAN
Brittany
(Borsen)
Shreeman, 32,
began her career as an
educator in 2013 at Hillel
Day School of Metropolitan
Detroit. Over the last 11
years, she has built strong
relationships with her
colleagues, students and
families throughout the
Jewish community. Brittany
is a third- and fourth-grade
general studies teacher at
Hillel. She is passionate
about creating a safe and
welcoming environment for
her students to feel
comfortable taking
academic risks and being
their true selves. This year,
Brittany is also the
community leader,
supporting all third and
fourth grade general
studies and Judaic studies
