Rabbi Tolwin left nothing
to chance. In November, he
arrived in Israel with 50 duffle
bags filled with donated sup-
plies soldiers needed, includ-
ing tactical clothing, socks,
underwear and T-shirts. Since
then, he’s sent 60 high-quality
tactical bags for the troops.
With every stop, Aish not
only was providing much
needed goods, but emotion-
al support and a message of
hope from the Detroit and
American Jewish community.

SOLIDARITY WITH
THE IDF SOLDIERS
The sacrifice and bravery of
everyday men and women in
Israel is beyond all measure.
Rabbi Tolwin got a firsthand
look at the toll it has been
taking when he had the oppor-
tunity to visit with three sol-
diers recovering in Hadassah
Hospital in Jerusalem.
Mission participants were
also given a rare behind-the-
scenes look at the IDF. They
were provided a security brief-
ing and a question-and-answer
session with an IDF rabbi who
was responsible for identifying
bodies and preparing for burial.
