Sophia Aaron, Alex Aaron,
Lillian Beavers, Jack Beavers,
Danielle Jacobson (fiancé,
Zach Mettel) and Jenna
Jacobson. Sheldon is also
survived by his beloved
brother, Martin Goldman.
Sheldon’s family was at the
center of his heart. He is also
remembered by numerous
lifelong friends who, like his
family, mourn his departure.
He was preceded in death
by his parents, Seymour and
Martha (Katzer) Goldman,
Sheldon’s memory will
forever be a blessing.
Interment was at Clover
Hill Park Cemetery.

DR. RAFAIL Z.
KHASMINSKII,
92, of Reston, Va.,
formerly of
Farmington Hills,
died Jan. 23,
2024.
Dr. Khasminskii was a
distinguished professor and
a lifetime scholar at Wayne
State University. He was
a recognized scientist in
the field of probability and
statistics, whose works are
cited very frequently.
He is survived by his sons
and daughters-in-law, Alex
and Vera Ankudinov, Dmitri
and Anna Ankudinov;
daughter and son-in-law,

Anna and Alex Avilov;
grandchildren, Julia, Anton,
Julia, Alissa, Sasha, Dana,
Masha, Dasha, Alex; great-
grandson, Jonathan; brother,
Igor Khasminskii.
Rafail was the beloved
husband of the late Lydia M.
Khasminskii.
Contributions may
be made to a charity of
one’s choice. A graveside
service was held at Clover
Hill Park in Birmingham.
Arrangements by Hebrew
Memorial Chapel.

ELLEN KOTLER,
73, of West
Bloomfield, died
Jan. 21, 2024.
She is survived
by her son and
daughter-in-law, Joshua and

Sarah Rubin; daughter and
son-in-law, Penina Rubin
and Michael Wisnefsky;
grandchild, Elijah Rubin;
brothers and sisters-in-law,
Mark and Carol Kotler, and
Burt and Batia Kotler; sister,
Sally Chai.
Mrs. Kotler was the
beloved wife for 34 years of
the late Donald Rubin; the
dear sister-in-law of the late
Michael Chai; the devoted
daughter of the late Sidney
and the late Elsie Kotler.
Interment was at Adat
Shalom Memorial Park.
