JANUARY 25 • 2024 | 41 J N T he Jewish Community Relations Council/ AJC and the Hindu Community Relations Council (HCRC) hosted their annual Chanukah- Diwali celebration last month at a local Hindu Temple. This celebration was not only a reminder of allyship during difficult times, but also a commemoration of the life and legacy of Samantha Woll, who was instrumental in initiating the tradition of celebrating Chanukah-Diwali in Metro Detroit. The celebration included ceremonial candle lighting, musical performances and delicious Indian-style kosher food. JCRC/AJC is grateful to the HCRC and the greater Hindu community for its compassion and support for the Jewish community. Our community looks forward to many more years of contin- ued friendship built through trust, friendship and shared values. JCRC/AJC Joined Hindu Community to Celebrate Chanukah, Diwali.
