he Jewish Community
Relations Council/
AJC and the Hindu
Community Relations
Council (HCRC) hosted
their annual Chanukah-
Diwali celebration last month
at a local Hindu Temple.

This celebration was not
only a reminder of allyship
during difficult times, but
also a commemoration of the
life and legacy of Samantha
Woll, who was instrumental
in initiating the tradition of
celebrating Chanukah-Diwali

in Metro Detroit.
The celebration included
ceremonial candle lighting,
musical performances and
delicious Indian-style kosher
food.

 JCRC/AJC is grateful to
the HCRC and the greater
Hindu community for its
compassion and support for
the Jewish community. Our
community looks forward to
many more years of contin-
ued friendship built through
trust, friendship and shared
values.

JCRC/AJC Joined
Hindu Community to
Celebrate Chanukah,
Diwali.

Rabbi Asher Lopatin, right, with colleagues from the Consular
Corps.

The Woll family with Samantha’s menorah lit in her honor at the
event.
