Jean was the sister of the

Sarason.

BRUCE 
GOLDSMITH, 87, 
of Plymouth, Mich., 
died Jan. 12, 2024. 
He graduated 
from Central High 
School in Detroit. He served in 

the United States Air Force and 
was released from active duty in 
1962.
Bruce had many passions in 
life such as golf, boating, camp-
ing, photography, theater, opera, 
music and reading. He loved 
Nespresso coffee and trying new 
non-alcoholic beers and wine. 
The most important thing to him 
was family. He spent as much 
time as he could with everyone 
he loved. 
He worked in the music indus-
try, served as a bailiff and was 
a sales rep for VARIG Airlines 
and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. 
Bruce was an active member of 
the Congregation for Humanistic 
Judaism of Metro Detroit 
(founded as The Birmingham 
Temple), which was a major part 
of his life.
Mr. Goldsmith is survived 
by his wife of 40 years, Carol 
(Coursen) Goldsmith; daughter, 
Victoria Slates; grandchildren, 
Rachel Slates and Noah Slates; 
nephews and nieces, Jeffrey and 
Karen Litwin, and Rick and 
Marji Litwin; cousins, grand-
nieces, grandnephew and many 
friends. 
He was the loving brother 
of the late Roberta Litwin and 
the late Barbara Goldsmith; the 
devoted son of the late Ralph 
Goldsmith and the late Kitty 
Wexler. 
Interment was at Clover Hill 
Park Cemetery. Contributions
