“First, he made a presenta-
tion to the leadership at camp
to see if it would be OK to do
this. Then he went out and
secured sponsors to under-
write the cost of the event,
and has really done all the
work,” Davidson-Mertz said.
“We are incredibly proud
and inspired by the amount
of effort and vision Milo
has shown, and so grateful
Milo is choosing to support
Tamarack, of all the things he
could support.”
Davidson-Mertz says there
have been a number of kids
over the past few years who
have chosen to give back to
camp for their mitzvah proj-
ect.
“We are grateful to all
of them,” she said. “We’re
thrilled our campers are giv-
ing back and that camp has
inspired them to do tzeda-
kah.”
Having already raised more
than $7,000 means a lot to
Milo. He’s already surpassed
his initial goal.
“My goal was to complete
a subsidy; the most that
Tamarack gives to one kid is
$3,500. To know I’ve done

two and it’s still going is
amazing,” Milo said.
Lisa and Jared are very
proud of Milo’s efforts and his
mitzvah overall.
“I think it’s awesome to
start the lay leadership pro-
cess early,” Lisa said.
Those in attendance to see
the movie will mainly be kids.
It’s mostly been kids, after all,
donating to Milo’s fundraiser.
“You do have some parents
and people who are donating
a couple hundred dollars here
and there. But, by and large,
kids are scraping together
$18, $36, to donate and sup-
port. And I think that’s the
concept Milo was going for,”
Jared said.
The donation includes the
movie ticket, popcorn and
pop.
Lisa Rothberger says for
the Tamarack kids attending,
it’ll be like an unofficial camp
reunion.
“Get your camp friends
together and come to the
movies!”
