She is a student at Hillel Day School of Metropolitan Detroit in Farmington Hills. Lainie’s most meaningful mitzvah project was col- lecting athletic shoes to be sold or recycled, helping to keep waste out of landfills. The money she raised will be donated to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, where she received lifesaving surgery as an infant.
