a bat mitzvah at Temple Israel
in West Bloomfield on 
Saturday, Jan. 13, 2024. She 
will be joined in celebration 
by her sisters and brother, 
Talia, Elia and Mason. Lainie is 
the loving grandchild of 
Arlene and Michael Marks, 
Judy and Ron Ossipove, and 
Margo and the late Ernie 
Butki. 
She is a student at Hillel 
Day School of Metropolitan 
Detroit in Farmington Hills. 
Lainie’s most meaningful 
mitzvah project was col-
lecting athletic shoes to be 
sold or recycled, helping to 
keep waste out of landfills. 
The money she raised will 

be donated to Children’s 
Hospital of Philadelphia, 
where she received lifesaving 
surgery as an infant. 

Hannah Schwartz

Farmington Hills 
will become a bat 
mitzvah at Adat 
Shalom 
Synagogue in Farmington 
Hills on Saturday, Jan. 13, 
2024. She is the daughter of 
Shauna and Scott Schwartz 
and sister of Lily. Her grand-
parents are Sharon and 
Bennett Schwartz, Lorri 
Trompeter, the late Alan 
Trompeter, and the late Suzy 
Matlin.
Hannah attends Hillel Day 
School of Metropolitan Detroit 
in Farmington Hills. For her 
mitzvah project, she is donat-
ing goods to the organization 
Alternatives for Girls.
