Melissa’s mother Cindy
Bolokofsky and sister
Cathy Prue also made the
trip to Israel from their
homes in North Carolina
and Florida, respectively.
Sully made it to all three
of the Detroit hockey
team’s practices at the
Farmington Hills Ice
Arena before the Maccabi
Games and the one
practice in Israel.
“I could tell from
the first practice in
Farmington Hills that Sully
was going to be a better

player for being on that
team,” Melissa said.
Detroit is hosting the
Maccabi Games this
summer. Sully plans to be
there, once again playing
hockey for Detroit.
A friend from Canada
was glad to hear that.
“We’ll have a hockey
team in Detroit. I hope
to see Sully there,” Hersh
said.

Hebrew Free Loan Detroit

6735 TELEGRAPH ROAD, SUITE 300 • BLOOMFIELD HILLS, MICHIGAN 48301

@HFLDetroit

Community donations help Hebrew Free Loan give
interest-free loans to local Jews for a variety of personal,
health, educational and small business needs.

When people consider Hebrew Free Loan’s
involvement in our state’s Jewish community, they
tend to think first of personal loans, college loans,
or our small business loans. What many don’t realize
is that HFL also uplifts Jewish life in Michigan by
supporting Jewish organizations like Isaac Agree
Downtown Synagogue in Detroit, Temple B’nai Israel of
Petoskey, Temple Beth Sholom of Marquette, and Jewish
Family Services of Ann Arbor.
Many of our cherished Michigan agencies and
institutions have been able to make changes,
upgrades and expansions with the support of
Hebrew Free Loan’s Michigan Jewish Organization Loan
Program. Launched in 2018 in partnership with
the Ravitz Foundation, the fund can offer loans of
up to $100,000 to help some of our community’s
facilities cross the finish line when it comes to
funding capital improvements or capacity-building
programs.
