n Dec. 17, Hadassah Greater
Detroit installed Marcie Rosen
as its new region president.
Marcie, former president of Tikvah chap-
ter, said, “I’m honored and humbled to
begin this new era of Hadassah Greater
Detroit. We’re on an upward trajectory,
and I’ll be working hard with my great
board to ensure it continues over the next
three years of my presidency.”
The region’s executive committee was
installed, and for the first time, the three
Detroit chapter boards were also installed.
Carol Ogusky, past president of Hadassah
Greater Detroit, was the installing officer
for the executive committee, and Fran
Heicklen, also a past president, installed
the chapter boards.
Marcie welcomed her new board and,
in a beautiful inaugural speech, chroni-
cled her Hadassah journey that led her to
the presidency, and outlined her vision
for the region.
Immediate Past President Mandy
Garver handed the reins over to Marcie
and updated the group of more than
70 men and women on the situation

in Israel, and Hadassah’s recent role in
demanding action from both the U.N., in
condemning the sexual violence visited
on Israeli women and girls on Oct. 7, and
the Red Cross, for abdicating its purport-
ed role in assuring the safety of hostages
of violence.

Mandy was presented with a parting
gift of a beautiful Michael Aram chanuki-
ah by President Marcie Rosen and Fran
Heicklen.

Hadassah Greater Detroit welcomes new members

and current members who would like to become

more involved. Call (248) 683-5030 for information.
