DEBBIE MOROSOHK DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION

Chanukah
Candemonium

For Chanukah at Temple
Beth El this year, our Masa
(Religious School) students
in grades K-6 had a blast at
our Chanukah Candemonium
event. This was an opportunity
to both create Chanukah fun
for our students and fulfill the
mitzvah of feeding the hungry.
It began weeks before
Chanukah as the classes started
bringing in cans of food and
grew their collections leading
up to the holiday. They made
their plans and created their
designs. Then, on Sunday,
Dec.10, each class got a table in
the foyer to build and decorate
their Chanukah menorah using
all those cans. Students, mad-

richim and teachers worked
together to make their designs
creative, some wild, some
whacky, and all big and beau-
tiful.
At the end of the day, each
class presented their Chanukiah
to an esteemed panel of judges
and a winner was chosen.
However, it was clear that
everyone was a winner as all
had fun, and every class was
rightfully proud of their cre-
ation.
And, most importantly, we
donated 684 cans of food to
Yad Ezra to help them in their
mission to provide food for
those who are in need at this
holiday season.
