JEWISH NEWS

THE DETROIT
On this day, Hamas terrorists kill and maim
1,200 Israelis. This marked the most Jews killed
in a single day since WWII and the end of the
Holocaust. Over 200 Israelis, Americans, Thai,
Germans and other foreign citizens were taken
hostage. “A Day of Terror” is the cover story for the
Oct. 12 JN; the Oct. 19 issue is devoted to Israel
and the war. The Jewish Federation of Detroit,
synagogues and temples, the Friends of the IDF
Michigan Chapter and many other organizations
and individuals immediately launch emergency
fund drives and services to Israel. Vigils are held
throughout Michigan. IDF reservists return to Israel
to take part in Operation Iron Swords.
