we found a way to stay a
close and loving family,”
Harvey said. “We were
campers for 20 years. In
remote campgrounds, we
began with a tent and after
10 years, bought a pop-up
camper. Everyone pitched
in to build a fire, clean
the campsite and fetch
water. With no television
or telephones, we relied on
each other for survival.”
Eventually, the family
began enjoying adventures
on a 16-passenger sailboat
along the Caribbean.
Once their children were
grown, Harvey and Cynthia
began traveling the world
together.
“When I retired from
broadcasting in the late
2000s, Cynthia and I took
long five-week road trips
across the United States.
We visited every federal
monument and park across
America and others in
Canada. It was a wonderful
way to explore our beautiful
country in our senior
years,” Harvey said.
They love to reflect on
their God-given gifts,
especially their beautiful
family.
“Thinking back, I often
wonder exactly what
helped make our marriage
so wonderful. Of course,
as children, we shared a
similar heritage. But more
importantly, we are equal
partners in our marriage.
We make decisions together.
We respect and trust each
other,” Harvey said.
“Until today, we are the
best of friends who enjoy
the same experiences in
life.”
