BERTRAM JEROME
SPIWAK, M.D., 91,
passed away at his
home in Houston,
Texas, on Nov. 25,
2023.
He was born on Oct. 21, 1932,
in Cleveland, Ohio, and became
a devoted husband, father,
grandfather, son, physician and
friend.
Bertram had many passions.
He was an avid photographer
and videographer, document-
ing family events and his many
travels. He loved classical music,
literature and theater. Most of
all, he loved spending summers
cruising on his boat, the Bad L
Sam, with family and friends.
A generous host who never
met a stranger, Bertram fre-
quently invited those he met to
family meals and simchas. He
was guided by his love of family;
his admiration for and devotion
to his beloved wife, Audrey, was
evident to all.
Bertram delivered thousands
of babies throughout his more
than 30-year career as an obste-
trician gynecologist in Livonia.
His motto, “Dr. Spiwak really
delivers,
” exemplified his com-
mitment to his patients and
his work. He was loved by his
patients and colleagues alike and
well-known for his strong ethics
and compassion.
Bertram was predeceased
by his parents, Sophie and
Abraham Spiwak; and his
brother, Marvin Spiwak. He is
survived by Audrey, his wife of
69 years; his children, Deborah,
