HOLIDAY MUSIC

The Detroit Symphony 
Orchestra will host holiday 
events at Curtis Park and 
Beacon Park. On Saturday, 
Dec. 9. from noon-6 pm, 
the DSO will partner with 
NW Goldberg Cares to 
present Holiday Fest at 
Curtis Park, 1941 Ferry 
Park St., Detroit. The 
family-friendly event will 
feature early childhood 
musical activities led by 
DSO teaching artists, 
performances by local 
musicians, free food trucks, 
early childhood crafts, 
lighting ceremonies and 
the second annual NW 
Goldberg Holiday Market. 
This event is free to attend, 
but registration is required 
at dso.org. Please note: 
DSO musicians do not 
appear at this event. On 
Sunday, Dec. 10, at 4 pm, 
the DSO will partner with 
DTE Energy Foundation for 
Winter Celebrations with 
the DSO at Winter Design 
Haus in Beacon Park, 1901 
Grand River Ave., Detroit. 
DSO musicians will perform 
inside a heated tent, 
accompanied by holiday 
festivities throughout the 
park. The event will feature 
the option for a special 
sommelier-selected wine 
pairing and dinner package 

at 6 pm at Beacon Park’s 
flagship restaurant, Lumen 
Detroit. This event is free, 
but registration is required 
at dso.org. Reservations 
through Lumen Detroit are 
required for the dinner and 
wine seating.

CHESED FEST
10:30-NOON, DEC. 10 
(SUN.) 
At Adat Shalom 
Synagogue. This program 
is open to people of all 
ages who want to help 
the Chesed Committee. 
Braid and bake challot, 
bake dessert for meal 
deliveries, assemble baby 
baskets. Children are 
welcome to volunteer with 
their grown-ups; drop-off 
supervised kids play time 
with volunteer projects for 
the Chesed Fest is also
