GERALD “JAKE” FARBER,
83, of Farmington Hills, died
Nov. 14, 2023.
He is survived by his sister,
Marsha “Corky” Berniker.
He was the loving uncle
of Larry (Barbara) Farber,
David (Nanci) Farber, Jeffrey
Farber, David Berniker and
Amitai Berniker. He is also
survived by many devoted
great-nieces and nephews.
Gerald was the dear
brother of the late William
(the late Audrey) Farber.
Interment was held at Beth
El Memorial Park Cemetery
in Livonia. Contributions
may be made to the Farber
Soul Center at the Friendship
Circle. Arrangements by
Dorfman Chapel.

MAX FERTEL, 95, of Novi,
died Nov. 11, 2023.
He is survived by his
wife, Elaine Fertel; sons and
daughters-in-law, Howard
and Natalie Fertel of Walled
Lake, David and Jill Fertel
of Walled Lake; daughter
and sons-in-law, Sandi and
Keith Reich of Flossmoor,
Ill., Michael Layne;
grandchildren, Rachel Reich,
Alex Reich, Joshua and Yui
Layne, Julie Fertel, Nick
Fertel, Nina Fertel; great-
grandson, Beni Layne. He is
also survived by dedicated
caregivers, LaTonya, Zelda,
Linda, Latoya.
Max was the loving father
of the late Judy Layne; dear
brother of the late Stan
Fertel.
Contributions may

B’nai Moshe, 6800 Drake
Road, West Bloomfield, MI

48322. A funeral service took
place at Hebrew Memorial
Chapel. Interment was held

EILEEN GROSS,
92, of Southfield,
passed peacefully
in her sleep on
Nov. 10, 2023.
She is survived
by her sons and daughters-
in-law, Steve and Betsy
Gross, David and Diane
Gross, Brian and Shelley
Gross; daughter and son-in-
law, Linda and Brian Shear;
grandchildren, Sophia,
Rachel, Mollie, Hazel,
Brendan, Max (Alyssa)
and Peter (Kattee); great-
grandchildren, Clara, Lincoln
and Miles. Her family would
like to thank her caregiver
and friend to the end, Car.
Eileen was the beloved
wife for 61 years of the late
Harvey Gross.
Interment took place
at Hebrew Memorial
Park Cemetery in Mount
Clemens. Contributions may
be the Carl Rinne Lewy Body
Dementia Initiative at the
University of Michigan or
to a charity of one’s choice.
