A

new partnership
between The Well
and Shalom Hartman
Institute is offering learning
and leadership development
opportunities to young Jewish
adults.
The Jewish learning series
launched Nov. 8 at the Office
Coffee Shop in Royal Oak and
continues as a four-part pro-
gram. The remaining events
will take place in February,
March and April 2024, bringing
the partnership into the spring
months.
The free programming,
which is sponsored by dona-
tions, is designed for young
Jewish adults ages 21 to 40. The
series kickoff delved into Jewish
wisdom, our relationship with

Israel, and Jewish perspectives
both now and into the future.
The event featured guest
speaker Rabbi Dr. Joshua
Ladon, director of education
for Shalom Hartman Institute
of North America. Ladon is
responsible for guiding the
content of national and regional
programs at the institute.
Future sessions will cover the
following topics: sacred time
(February), obligation (March)
and tzedakah (April). Rabbi Jeff
Stombaugh, executive director
at The Well, hopes these efforts
will inspire young adults to get
involved in the community.
“We’ve been looking for a
way of bringing new young
leadership into the fold of
Jewish life,” he explains of

New partnership offers free leadership
development program for young adults.
