ARC has been in the life of
Bloomfield Hills native Andrew
Luckoff for as long as he can
remember. As he grew up, Luckoff’s
parents were heavily involved with
JARC. His father, Howard, is a past
president.
“It’s a very near and dear organization
for our family, always has been,” Luckoff
said. “My parents volunteered for years
and paved the way for my siblings
and me to get passionate about the
organization and figure out what we
wanted to do.”
That passion has led Luckoff, 33,
to become a member of JARC’s board
of directors as well as its executive
committee and a devoted volunteer for
many years.
Around his early teenage years,
Luckoff was not only volunteering, but
also getting friends, relatives and people
in his circle involved in attending JARC

events and learning more about the
organization.
Luckoff has served in various
capacities — chairing events, serving
on event committees, participating
in and sponsoring various volunteer
opportunities including JARC bingo
events, assembling and delivering Purim
baskets to bring joy to the people JARC
serves, visiting the JARC homes and
helping plant flowers for beautification
in the spring, taking part in plenty of
JARC Shabbat dinners and more.
Having been on the board for about a
half decade now, Luckoff has seen JARC
go through some major changes, all for
the better.
“The most rewarding thing to me
and what I’m most proud of is seeing
the progress and evolution of JARC,”
Luckoff said. “The organization is in
a much different place from when
I started on the board. The mission

and vision have always been the same,
though, which I can really appreciate. If
anything, it’s only gotten stronger.”
In addition to his involvement
with JARC, Luckoff is on the Jewish
Federation of Detroit’s NEXTGen Board
and recently became a member of the
Jewish Federations of North America’s
National Young Leadership Cabinet.
Luckoff is also on the HR and
Engagement Committee for JARC,
which focuses on staff culture.
“The people who work in the JARC
homes and serve our residents are
incredible. It is not an easy job, and it
comes with a lot of different stresses
and needs. What that committee tries
to do is — how can we make it a great
place to work and an easy place to
work? How do we keep them happy?
How can we help them in their personal
lives? To make them feel not only
special, but that they’re part of the
