obi and Larry Fox of West Bloomfield celebrated 
their 65th wedding anniversary on Oct. 26, 2023. 
They are the proud parents of Michael and Stacy 
Fox, and Allan and Shelly Fox. They are even prouder of 
their grandchildren, Gabriel, Izzy, Eli, Simon and Goldie.

Jackson Gold

a bar mitzvah at 
Temple Shir 
Shalom in West Bloomfield 
on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2023. 
He is the son of Gayle and 
Lorne Gold and the 
brother of Maddie Gold. 
Jackson is the grandson of 
Francine and Edward 
Gold, Fred Apel, the late 
Beverly Apel and the late 
Harry Friedman.
He attends Norup 
International in Oak 
Park. As part of his 
mitzvah project, Jackson 
contributed to United 

Hatzalah and Federation’s 
Israel Emergency Fund.

Sydney Quinn 
Gutman, 
daughter of 
Sarah and Eric 
Gutman, will be 
called to the 
Torah as a bat mitzvah at 
Temple Israel in West 
Bloomfield on Saturday, 
Nov. 11, 2023. She will be 
joined in celebration by 
her sister Riley. Sydney is 
the loving grandchild of 
Bonnie and Leslie Bricker, 
Cheri and Sanford Topper, 
Karen and Howard 
Gutman, and Margo and 
Jeff Lowe. 
She is a student at 
Norup Middle School 
in Oak Park. Sydney’s 
most meaningful mitzvah 
project was raising money 
for Taproots, Camp 
Walden’s new nonprofit 
foundation providing 

learning experiences and 
camper scholarships to 
children from underserved 
communities.

Benjamin 
Lepler, son of

lead the 
congregation in prayer as 
a bar mitzvah at Temple 
Israel in West Bloomfield 
on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2023. 
He is the loving grandchild 
of Eileen and Marvin 
Kaplan, and the late Reva 
Lepler. 
Mason is a student at 
Clifford Smart Middle 
School in Commerce 
Township. His most 
meaningful mitzvah project 
was donating tzedakah to 
the Jewish War Veterans 
of the USA Foundation.
