t is time to grab your family and
friends, lace up your favorite kicks,
and head over to Southfield City
Center for the 2023 ADL Michigan
Walk Against Hate on Oct. 22. Everyone
is invited to participate to move toward
a future without antisemitism, racism
or bigotry.
Planned speakers at this year’s ADL
Michigan Walk Against Hate include
Southfield Mayor Kenson Siver, ADL
Senior Vice President for Public Affairs
and Chief of Staff George Selim, ADL
Michigan Regional Director Carolyn
Normandin, ADL Michigan Regional
Board President Daniel Warsh, and this
year’s Path to Righteousness Awardee
and ADL Global Leadership Council
member, Dr. Leonard Sahn.
ADL Michigan’s Path to
Righteousness award celebrates and

recognizes individuals with enduring
and exceptional dedication to
supporting ADL Michigan in the global
ADL mission to Fight Hate for Good.
“This award is given to people who
set a righteous path to others,” says
ADL Michigan Regional Director
Carolyn Normandin. “Leonard acts
courageously and provides real support
to ADL and its work to combat hatred,
and we are pleased to honor him.”
Reflecting on this honor, Dr. Sahn
said, “To say I care about ADL is an
understatement. But why have I given
my time, energy and resources to this
110-year-old organization?”
He continued, “Simply put: We
need the ADL. No other organization
supports Jews, fights antisemitism,
records and reports on the impact of
hatred, and works with law enforcement

to bring extremists to justice — all
while educating young people.”
Dr. Sahn extends an invitation to
all to join him and his wife, Linda, on
the walk. “Linda and I have decided to
offer a matching donation — dollar-
for-dollar — up to $10,000. So, if
you would like to commemorate this
occasion, please visit Team Leonard
Sahn, and make a gift on my behalf.”
Daniel Warsh, ADL Michigan
regional board president, said, “The
Walk Against Hate is our opportunity
to put action behind our words
and to come together to outwardly
demonstrate our rejection of
antisemitism, racism and bigotry of any
kind.”
“I walk to join thousands of like-
minded individuals from around the
country to show our communities that
in no uncertain terms, we reject hatred
of all kinds,” Dr. Sahn said.
There is still plenty of time to form
or join a team and to donate and raise
money to support the ADL.
