position of Quality Manager for Cold Drawn SBQ
(Special Bar Quality) Bar Processing in Livonia, MI.
Although the Quality Manager for Cold Drawn SBQ Bar Processing will work
in Livonia, MI, the Quality Manager for Cold Drawn SBQ Bar Processing
will be required to travel 20% of working time to customer & supplier
locations throughout the United States. Position requires a Master’s
degree in Industrial Engineering or Industrial Technology or Technology
& 36 months experience as a Quality Engineer. Position also requires:
Exp. must include: 1) 36 mos. exp. must have been gained with a cold-
drawn SBQ manufacturer; 2) 36 mos. exp. evaluating non-conforming SBQ
bars & determining disposition; & 3) 24 mos. exp. preparing documents
according to Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) & Advanced Product
Quality Planning (APQP) standards. Exp. reqs. may be met concurrently
during the same time period. Job duties: Manage & lead Company-wide
Quality System requirements for cold-drawn SBQ bars. Lead a team of
two to six employees holding the titles of Quality Engineer, Associate
Quality Engineer, or Quality Technician. Direct Quality Engineers, Process
Engineers, & Quality Technicians to optimize process routings based on
process capability, outside processor availability, & non-destructive testing.
Configure eight-dimensional (8D) root cause meetings with customers on
product quality issues. Manage Materials Engineering activities such as
part creation, specification reviews, certification management, & creation
of new grade standards. Create & report on quality department metrics
(non-conforming inventory, raw material rejects percentage, & customer
claims on product quality) during weekly production review meetings.
Manage daily disposition of non-conforming inventory (hot rolled/cold
finished product) in rework, in-process, quarantine (raw material &
finished goods) for quality issues. Participate in customer visits & prepare
documents according to AIAG & APQP standards. All offers of employment
