Lake Road passing 
Northwestern Highway on 
Monday, Oct. 9, passed dozens 
of supporters of Israel waving 
American and Israeli flags 
and holding signs proclaiming 
unwavering solidarity with 
Israel.
The rally was organized 
by #EndJewHatred. “What 
we saw this weekend was the 
worst onslaught of terror in 
Israel’s history since the Yom 
Kippur War,” said Adar Rubin, 

#EndJewHatred director of 
mobilization. “The pain of the 
Jewish community of Oakland 
County is indescribable, felt 
by both sides of the political 
spectrum.” 
He added, “This is our 
opportunity to come together 
in unity, and channel this 
just pain into Jewish pride 
and calls for justice. We will 
not be silent and, today, the 
#EndJewHatred movement 
will show the resiliency of 
Michigan’s Jewish community.”

Haley Stevens spoke 
passionately and resolutely, 
declaring commitment to 
Israel and Israel’s right to 
defend itself. Speaking into 
a megaphone to the people 
gathered, she said, “Terrorism 
and hate have no place in the 
free world!”
Following the event, Stevens 
expanded on her commitment 
and dedication to Israel and 
the Jewish people. “I was 
proud to see the outpouring 
of support for Israel. After 
Hamas’ senseless attack, the 

American people and the 
federal government must 
continue showing our support. 
In Congress, I will continue 
to support Israel, the Jewish 
people, and stand up against 
Hamas’ shocking violence.”
Ian Mendel traveled to Israel 
for the first time in March 
with the Motor City Mission. 
Sharing his shock and grief 
and love for Israel and reason 
for attending the rally, he said, 
“I felt the need to take a break 
from the news footage and 
social media posts. I wanted
