Kicking Cancer collects gifts for 
children and teens to distribute 
for birthdays, hospital visits, 
care packages, celebrations, etc. 
They are also collecting new 
books for students to build their 
home libraries and find encour-
agement to read. Donations 
should be dropped off at the 
Kids Kicking Cancer office in 
Southfield. Lastly, Kids Kicking 
Cancer is looking for tutors in

Detroit Jewish Book Fair at 
The J Nov. 1–12. Opportunities 
include greeters to welcome 
guests, book sellers who can 
make recommendations to

help with WINGO on Nov. 2 
for shifts between 4:30-10 p.m.

for the 27th annual Fall Fix 
Up on Nov. 5 to help winterize 
homes of older adults served 
by the organization. Royal Oak 
Moishe House, Hillel of Metro 
Detroit, NEXTGen Detroit 
Volunteers, Repair the World 
Detroit, Shaarey Zedek and 
The Well will partner up to 
rake leaves, clean out garden 
beds, clean windows and more. 
The event kicks off at Oxford 
Park in Berkley with coffee, 
bagels and a quick introduction 
before tending to the homes. To

Spill the Honey is an orga-
nization dedicated to educating 
the next generation on dialogue 
and action by using the arts 
and the historical coalition of 
the African Americans and 
Jews during the Civil Rights 
Movement in America as a 
template for promoting empa-
thy in action. On Nov. 13, Spill 
the Honey needs volunteers for 
their event at the Sound Board 
Theater. Volunteers will help 
with registration, selling mer-
chandise, seating guests, etc.
