The international
grassroots civil rights
movement #EndJewHatred
issued the following
statement in response
to the “Mock Apartheid
Wall” event, which took
place last week at the
University of Michigan
campus. The event,
intended to target Jewish
and Israeli students
with hatred based on
distorted and fictitious
narratives, created a
hostile environment
for the minority Jewish
community.
“We cannot allow the
University of Michigan
to follow so many other
schools like CUNY and
UPenn — that have
welcomed Jew-hatred on
campus with open arms.
So-called ‘Apartheid
Wall’ demonstrations
target the minority
Jewish community by
denying our identity,
our indigeneity to our
ancestral homeland,
and the rights of Jewish
students to be free
of intimidation and
harassment.”
The organization
proposed a dialogue
with the university on
steps it could take to
#EndJewHatred on its
campus before it has a
chance to take hold.
