An increasing number of
individuals are now working
into their 70s: a recent report
in Moneywise showcased that
workers aged 75 and older were
the only age group projected to
increase its share of the work-
force, from 8.9 percent in 2020
to 11.7 percent in 2030. Many
seniors are now healthier and
want to remain in employment,
while for others, inadequate
retirement savings or a desire
to refrain from using social
security for as long as possible
is the driving factor to keep
working.

Gesher Human Services
is now offering free support,
advice and information for
experienced adults who want to
discover employment options
which might be suitable at this
stage of their lives, and which
might also be fun and fulfilling.
“Reevaluating Retirement”
meetings will be held twice a
month, with the next session
starting Oct. 10, and are offered
to anyone who is considered an
age where they could be retir-
ing, but who is instead looking
for their next employment
chapter; Metro Detroiters in

their 50s, 60s, 70s and beyond
are welcome. For more infor-
mation, go to geshermi.org/
event-calendar.
Meetings will be held
from 6-7.30 p.m. every other
Tuesday at Gesher Human
Services (29699 Southfield
Road, Southfield). Upcoming
dates are Oct. 10, Oct. 24,
Nov. 7, Nov. 21 and Dec. 5.
Participants can come to one or
all of the meetings.
To register for the programs,
email Gerard Baltrusaitis at
gbaltrusaitis@geshermi.org or
call (248) 233-4288.
