ARC, a nonprofit serving
adults with developmental
disabilities in Metro Detroit,
is looking to raise $1.2 million in
funds to support the important
programs and services they provide
to enrich the lives of people with
developmental disabilities.
 The nonprofit is kicking off
the fall campaign with its annual
fundraiser on Sunday, Oct. 15, from
7-10 p.m. at The Magic Bag (22920
Woodward, Ferndale).
The most elusive and glamorous
nightclub Studio 54 is back for
one night only as guests will be
transported in time to the iconic
former New York City discotheque
for a night of great music, food
and fundraising.
Studio 54 presented by JARC
is an experiential event with a
nod to JARC’s 54 years of service
to people with developmental
disabilities and will consist of a
pre-glow, which includes hors
d’oeuvres and background music, a
buffet-style kosher dinner followed
by dancing to music mixed by
Detroit’s renowned dance party
team Haute to Death. All attendees
must be age 21 or older and are
encouraged to wear spectacular
attire suitable for a Studio 54
opening night, embracing the spirit
of the avant-garde, nontraditional
fashion styles that were often worn
to the famed nightclub in hopes of
gaining access.
“This fall fundraising campaign
is a vital step toward our financial
ability to support the people with
developmental disabilities that
JARC serves,” said JARC CEO
Shaindle Braunstein. “Through the
Annual Fundraiser and the generous

financial support of the community,
JARC can provide a wide range of
social, recreational and religious
opportunities that ensures that
everyone we serve can have the
same experiences that you or I, or
anybody else in our community,
would have.”
The funds raised in this fall
fundraising campaign will enrich
the lives of individuals with
developmental disabilities served
by JARC in 45 locations in Metro
Detroit. Government funding
provides JARC with the necessities
to serve those in their care,
and donations to JARC support
everything that makes life fun
and exciting for those they serve,
such as recreational and social
programs, and other quality-of-life
opportunities.
“As JARC celebrates 54 years
of service, we are channeling the
atmosphere of Studio 54, and
have created a fabulous, fun and
meaningful event to raise money for
the important programs and services
that provide the people we serve an
opportunity to build connections,
uncover passions and create
memories,” said Andrew Luckoff,
Studio 54 event chair.
“This year, we are excited to
bring a brand-new event style to
our annual fundraiser that we think
people will enjoy.”
This year’s event chairs are
Meredith and Rob Colburn, Jodie
and Josh Jacobs, and Maddi and
Andrew Luckoff.
