Arrangements by Dorfman Chapel. DORIS LUCILLE MILLER, 98, of Walnut Creek, Calif., died peacefully at home on Sept. 7, 2023. Born in Detroit, Doris grew up in a large extended fami- ly and a community active in Jewish traditions. She was a brilliant student and started college at 16 years old. Doris graduated with a major in chemistry from Wayne State University, where she met Arthur as he was finishing his studies in medical school. They married, started a family and moved to Chicago for Arthur’s professional career. Doris worked as a medical technician until the family grew and moved to Highland Park, Ill. She was also active in numerous school, art and charitable activi- ties in Highland Park and North Shore Chicago.
