arvin Wolf Cherrin,
89, passed away
Sept. 10, 2023, in
Farmington Hills, Michigan.
He leaves behind a
loving family and
a legacy of duty,
resilience, creativity,
humor and love.
Marvin received
his early education
in Detroit, attend-
ing MacCulloch
Elementary School,
Durfee Intermediate
School and Central High
School. At 14, he joined Cherrin
Brothers Co., his family’s whole-
sale distribution and packaging
business. His fascination with
the industry led to tireless work
through his young adulthood,

culminating in his role as
in-house counsel.
Marvin’s academic journey
included business adminis-
tration studies at
the University of
Detroit, a B.S. in
packaging technol-
ogy from Michigan
State University, and
an L.L.D. degree
from Wayne State
University Law
School.
Marvin proudly
completed U.S. Air Force ROTC,
accepting a commission as a
second lieutenant. He later tran-
sitioned to the U.S. Army’s 11th
Airborne Division, serving as
an anti-aircraft artillery officer
and eventually joining the U.S.

Air Force Reserves in the Judge
Advocate General Corps, achiev-
ing the rank of captain.
In his professional life, Marvin
was a dedicated member of the
State Bar of Michigan for 55
years, with 43 of those years
spent in private practice, earning
the respect and admiration of his
clients and colleagues.
Marvin Cherrin’s legacy
lives on through Windsor, Back
Tonight, a (private) family history
and memoir, and in the hearts of
his children and grandchildren,
continuing from one generation
to the next.
Marvin was married to his
beloved wife, Heléne Winitsky
Cherrin, for 60 years and leaves
behind three children, S.J. and
Adria Cherrin, Reneé and Craig

Erlich, and P
.J. Cherrin. He is
also survived by six cherished
grandchildren, Alec, Brendan
and Natalie Cherrin, Jonah,
Sophie and Molly Erlich; his sis-
ter-in-law, Rhonda Cherrin.
Marvin was the son of the late
Mollie and the late Sam Cherrin;
he was predeceased by his broth-
er, Michael Cherrin.
Interment was at Clover Hill
Park Cemetery. Contributions

LEADER, 91, of

MICHLIN, 76, of

Ken worked as
an interior design-
er. He held a degree in busi-
ness management and was an
A.S.I.D. member.
Ken enjoyed exercising,
cooking, reading and,
especially, being with family
and friends. He was known for
his sweetness, kindness and
