Torgow said, “Mark is a
remarkable and dedicated

highest echelons of business
and commerce, the Jewish
people and Israel have always
been at the top of his agenda.

Mark has served on a
number of boards over the
years. Mark served as Board
Chair for the Detroit Regional
Chamber of Commerce, the
Detroit Symphony Orchestra,
the Michigan Israel Business
Accelerator and the Jewish
Community Center, and
served on other boards

FAMILY IS EVERYTHING
At home in West Bloomfield,
Mark and Margie stay
grounded. “We love being
with our kids and grandkids.
It doesn’t have to be more
complicated than that,
” Mark
said.

The couple have two sons.
Avi, is married to Amanda,
residing in Glencoe, Illinois,
with what Mark calls “our one-
third baseball team”
, Chase,
Audrey and Emmett. Kale,
who lives in Los Angeles with
his fiancée, Liz, a former West
Bloomfield resident, will be
married next year.
According to Margie, they
kept their kids immersed
in the Jewish community as
they were growing up with
involvement in Federation,
Temple Beth El, Camp
Tamarack and trips to
Israel, both family trips, and
organizational based missions.
“His commitment to
the Jewish community is
something that’s always been
there, and it comes from the
generations before us,
” said
Margie. “There was a strong
commitment to Zionism on
both sides of the family.

Mark sums up his career
this way: “The late Alan
E Schwartz, a mentor of
mine, told me, ‘No matter
what you do in your career,
do interesting things with
interesting people.
’ And that’s
what drives me. I’ll continue to
look for those moments where
I can add value and make a
difference.
