OF BLESSED MEMORY

RONALD
CHARFOOS, 88,
of Bloomfield
Hills, died
peacefully just
after sunset on
Aug. 27, 2023.
Ron was a builder in every
sense of the word. He built
homes and communities
with his father, Herbie,
throughout Metro Detroit;
but his real legacy will be the
building and strengthening
of each of the communities
he touched.
Ron had a deep
commitment to the Jewish
community through his love
of Jewish summer camps
and strengthening the
partnership region between
Detroit and Israel. He also
built a vast community
of friends that spread far
beyond his Detroit roots
with his compassion, sense
of humor and ability to tell a
great story.
He was a devoted and
loving husband for 49 years
to Lynda Charfoos. He had
an endless reservoir of time,
compassion, hugs and kisses
for his children, Aaron
and Nichole Charfoos, and
Amye and Lou Goldhaber;
and grandchildren, Isabella,
Jack, Oliver and Penelope
Charfoos, and Ray and
Stevie Goldhaber. He was the
loving brother of Carol and
Charles Tator; dear brother-
in-law of the late William
Dregalla; devoted son of the
late Herbert and the late
Henrietta Charfoos. He was a
special uncle of Ira and Janet
Tator, Michael and Carinne
Tator and Julie Tator. He is
also survived by his devoted
caregiver, Juanita Hickman.
Interment was at Adat
Shalom Memorial Park.

2023.
She is survived

Fertell; grandchildren,
Joshua (RuAnne) Phillips
and Daniel (Felicia) Phillips;
many nieces, nephews, other
family members and devoted
friends of all ages.
Jacqueline was the sister
of the late Irving (Sophie)
Auslander, Florence (Ray)
Perlmutter, Rose Collis and
Muriel (George) Tarnoff.
Interment took place at
Adat Shalom Memorial
Park Cemetery in Livonia.

SUSAN “SUZI”
KNOTT, of Ann
Arbor, passed
away Aug. 4,
2023.
She was born
Dec. 21, 1938, in Detroit, to
her adoring parents, Sam and
Sophie Cohen. Although an
only child, Suzi was part of
a large extended family and
built treasured memories
with her many cousins. She
attended Brady Elementary
School and was a proud
member of the Mumford
High School class of 1957.
Throughout her life, she
maintained many of the
friends she made during her
childhood.
Suzi’s family was the
highlight of her life. She
loved raising her children
and welcomed all their
friends into her home.
Neighbors, friends and
relatives called her home
“Camp Reznick” in the
summer, where they spent
time lounging in her
backyard pool among her
beautifully tended roses.
In 1985, Suzi married her
soulmate, Stuart Knott. They
enjoyed a 38-year-long love
story, traveling, dancing and
making good friends.
Suzi loved politics, was
an active member of the
Democratic Party and wrote
