DOUGLAS L. 
MANN, 96, of 
Novi, died 
peacefully at home 
on June 26, 2023, 
after a long, full, 
life. 
Doug was born in 
Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on 
Aug. 3, 1926. 
Doug had a distinguished 
career as a tax and estate 
attorney, was a graduate of 
the University of Michigan 
Law School, served in the U.S. 
Navy and was an accomplished 
golfer, skier and tennis player.
He is survived by his 
beloved wife, Joan; his two 
children (from a former 
marriage to Jeannette 
Kushner), Scott Mann (Lynn 
Sipher) and Andrea Mann 
(Alan Berkowitz); his three 
stepdaughters, Jill Thornton 
(Charles), Jane Talesnick 
and Kay Talesnick (Patrick 
McGerty); 12 grandchildren; 
five great-grandchildren. 
Memorial services will 
be held July 7, 2023, at the 
Congregation for Humanistic 
Judaism of Metro Detroit,

DR. MITCHEL 
MYERSON, 76, 
of Bloomfield 
Township, died 
June 27, 2023. 
Mitch was an avid 
tennis player and a lifelong 
learner.
He is survived by daughter 
and daughter-in-law, Gayle 
Keidan Myerson and Amie 
Morrison; son, Marco 
Myerson; nieces and nephews 
Rachel and Joel, Micah, 
Ari, Darren; Mitch was the 
beloved husband for 37 years 
of Karen Keidan Myerson. 
He was the uncle of the 
late Alyssa; dear son of the 
late Harvey and the late Kay 
Myerson.

SAMUEL 
“SAMMY” 
REIDER, 90, of 
West Bloomfield, 
passed away after 
sunset on June 22, 
2023. 
He was born in Detroit 
to Lily and Fred Reider. He 
graduated from Central 
High School in 1950. Sammy 
worked at the Detroit Free 
Press, starting with a paper 
route at the age of 8. He 
went on to become a station 
manager, working for more 
than 40 years. 
Mr. Reider volunteered for 
Jewish Family Service for 30 
years. His favorite location 
was the Dorothy and Peter 

Brown Center. In retirement, 
he enjoyed weaving at the 
Birmingham Bloomfield Art 
Center. For 37 years, he was 
a member of Shaarey Zedek 
and, in his later years, Temple 
Shir Shalom. 
Sam most loved his time 
with his family during 
holidays, vacations and time 
at home. He and Barby took 
many wonderful trips; though 
he was in Israel twice, he 
always looked forward to 
returning. 
He is survived by his love 
of 67 years, Barbara “Barby” 
Reider; son, Michael Reider; 
daughter, Dr. Eve Reider 
(Dr. Jim Novick); grandsons, 
Zachary Reider and Ethan 
Reider; their mother, Linda 
Reider; sisters-in-law, 
Deborah (Mort) Friedman 
and Carol Holdengraber; 
niece, Kelly (Maurice) Sessel; 
nephew, Matthew Friedman; 
many other nieces, cousins, 
friends; his wonderful 
caregiver, Augustine Nelson. 
He was the brother of the 
late Sol Reider and the late 
Mollie Cutler; son-in-law of 
the late Freyda Holdengraber
