NANCY PIERCE, 94, of Oak
Park, died June 19, 2023.
She is survived by her son
and daughter-in-law, Robert
(Sandra Smith) Pierce; daugh-
ters and sons-in-law, Carol
and Bruce Clark, and Cheryl
Vasconcellos and Samuel
Kalalau III; grandchildren,
Eli Clark and Matthew Clark;
many loving nieces, nephews,
other family members and
friends.
Nancy was the beloved wife
of the late Samuel Pierce.
Interment took place at the
Oakview Cemetery in Royal
Oak. Contributions may be
made to the American Heart
Association. Arrangements by
Dorfman Chapel.

DR. SHELDON PLOTNIK, of
Scottsdale, Ariz., formerly of
West Bloomfield, died June 15,
2023.
Dr. Plotnik is survived by
his wife, Phyllis Loewenstein;
sons and daughters-in-law,
Dr. Ronald and Joy Plotnik,
and Dr. James Plotnik and
Alison Rabin; daughters and
sons-in-law, Carolann and Dr.
Robert Goode, and Nancy and
Lawrence Koplow; grandchil-
dren, Dr. Erin Goode, Jamie
Goode, Randi Goode, Allison
Plotnik, Benjamin Plotnik,
Kailie Plotnik, Samantha
Plotnik, Josh Plotnik, and
Paige Koplow; brother and
sisters-in-law, Dr. Gilbert and
Ruth Plotnik, and MaryKay
Plotnik. He is also survived by
Phyllis’ loving family, includ-
ing Judy and Scott Roberts,
Mark and Karen Loewenstein,
Rick and Dana Loewenstein,
Michael Loewenstein;

10 grandchildren; four
great-grandchildren. He was
also loved by many nieces,
nephews, cousins and cher-
ished friends.
Dr. Plotnik was the beloved
husband of the late Joan
Plotnik; the devoted son of
the late Mary and the late
Benjamin Plotnik; and the
loving brother of the late Dr.
Harold Plotnik.
Dr. Plotnik was a Jewish
War Veteran and achieved
the rank of captain in the U.S.
Army. Honor Dr. Plotnik, a
21-year survivor of leukemia,
by donating to the Leukemia
and Lymphoma Society, 3
International Drive, Suite 200,
Rye Brook, NY 10573, donate.

at Clover Hill Park Cemetery.

DR. PHYLLIS G.
SEGAL, M.D., 68,
of West
Bloomfield, died
June 22, 2023.
She is survived
by her son and daughter-in-
law, Michael and Rebecca
Segal; grandchildren,
Madeline Segal and Benjamin
Segal; many other loving fami-
ly members and friends.
Dr. Segal was the dear sis-
ter of the late Dr. Lawrence
Howard Gordon.
Interment was held at
Nusach Hari Cemetery in
Ferndale. Contributions

& Behavior Research
Foundation, to Compassion
& Choices or to the
Michigan Humane Society.
