on the trails, exploring 
themes of Shabbat through 
nature exploration and play.

RIDE FOR THE LIVING 
8-11 AM, JULY 9 (SUN.)
The round-trip ride is from 
Ferndale to the Detroit 
Riverfront for riders of 
all ages and skill levels. 
Everyone from Slow Rollers 
(avg 11-12 mph), Cruisers 
(avg 13-15 mph) and 
Chasers (avg 16-18 mph). 
You must fill out a waiver 
form before registering for 
this ride (complete the form 
online). The Krakow JCC’s 
annual Ride for the Living 
from Auschwitz to Krakow 
commemorates Jewish 
history and celebrates the 
miraculous rebirth of Jewish 
life in Poland today. This 
corresponding 30-mile ride, 
held by Federation’s Israel 
& Overseas Department, 
is Jewish Detroit’s own 

way to commemorate and 
celebrate. Proceeds from 
our ride will directly ben-
efit the Krakow JCC. Start 
at Ferndale’s Gerry Kulick 
Community Center and 
finish (at our own pace) at 
Ferndale Project for food 
and drinks. The first drink

NEXTGEN’S ‘DARTY’ 
NOON-3 PM, JULY 16

This spring break/summer 
camp mashup of a day is 
packed with field and court 
games, adult sized slip-and-
slide, inflatables (including 
“Hungry Hungry Hippos” for 
humans), pickleball, food, 
drinks and lots of fun ways 
to beat the heat. Bathing 
suits and summer attire are 
recommended so you can 
enjoy the water activities. 
We encourage you to use 
a ride-share service or 
carpool with a designated 
driver. This event is intend-
ed for young adults ages 21 
to 39. Kosher options avail-
able upon request. Ticket 
includes food, two drinks 
and access to all activities. 
Cash bar available after first 
two drinks: $25 per 
person until June 
30 at noon; $36 
per person start-
ing June 30 after
