American Friends of Magen David Adom
hosts Times of Israel editor
Bernie and Nina Kent flank Times of Israel Editor David Horovitz and
MDA’s Aryeh Myers.
LAINEY MORTON
Bernie and Nina Kent recently
hosted a dessert reception for
Magen David Adom in their
Franklin home for friends
and supporters of American
Friends of Magen David
Adom.
David Horovitz, founding
editor of the Times of Israel,
and Aryeh Myers of MDA’s
Department of International
Relations were the guest
speakers. They also spoke at
homes in metro Chicago and
Cleveland.
“Magen David Adom is
vital to Israel’s well-being
and security,” said Bernie
Kent. “As Israel’s national
emergency medical service
and blood bank, they provide
ambulance and first-aid
services, manage the national
blood supply, and respond to
national emergencies. I feel
compelled to support this
lifesaving organization and
to encourage others to do the
same.”
Horovitz shared insights
and observations about
current events in Israel.
He spoke about the deep
foundational questions
regarding how Israel is
to be governed and the
fundamental principles of
democracy.
“Hopefully, we will manage
to find consensual principles
and strengthen our internal
cohesion,” he said. “Because
that internal unity is vital for
Israel to continue to thrive
and to deter its external
enemies,” he said.
