Our Impact: Voices from the Community

“I’ve always donated every year, and now I’m living at Jewish
Senior Life’s Meer Apartments—and I love living here. It’s a warm,
happy place and I see how Federation’s money is helping this
building and the people in it. I will continue to give to Federation
as long as I possibly can.

Rena Tepman, Jewish Senior Life Resident

“As a kindergarten teacher and a parent of two young boys, I see
firsthand how we are shaping the future leaders of tomorrow.
The Federation helps support our state-of-the-art facilities, a
building that is safe and secure, and teachers that truly care about
teaching the whole child. I am grateful to know that our future
generations are in great hands. ”

Lauren Midelton, Hillel Day School Teacher

“Federation has your back: If you’re somebody in our community who
needs help going through a crisis, a challenge, a transition. There
might be a risk of you being homeless. Maybe you don’t have food
on your table. Federation supports organizations that can help you
make sure that you have a life filled with dignity and respect.

Perry Ohren, CEO, Jewish Family Service

“I support Federation because it’s given me, as well as many other
students on campus, a safe and welcoming place here at Michigan
State. From the days that I moved in, to the days and weeks following
the events on February 13, MSU Hillel has been supportive of
students physical and emotional needs.”

Rebekah Weiskopf, MSU Hillel Student Leader

“Every dollar spent is in support of our communities both here
and abroad. In partnership with international organizations like
JDC, Federation creates tangible changes in the quality of Jewish
life. From lending support to the Argentine financial crisis, to
evacuating vulnerable populations during the war in Ukraine,
wherever there are Jews in need, Federation is there.
