BAKER, 82, of 
Novi, died May 6, 
2023. 
A tireless vol-
unteer on behalf 
of the men’s clubs of Ahavas 
Achim, Beth Achim and Adat 
Shalom, as well as vice presi-
dent of the Michigan Region of 
the Federation of Jewish Men’s 
Clubs, he was awarded the 
Ma’asim Tovim Award in 2013. 
He was also an active volunteer 
with the Jerry Lewis Muscular 
Dystrophy Association Telethon 
for more than three decades 
and worked on behalf of teen 
suicide prevention. 
Mr. Baker was an employee of 
Sears for more than 40 years; he 
later worked for Adat Shalom 
until the end of 2020. 
He is survived by his daugh-
ter and son-in-law, Helene 
and John Dunbar of Nashville, 
Tenn.; stepchildren, Michelle 
and Nick Malamis of Livonia, 
Brian and Fai Greenstein of 
Thailand; brother and sister-in-
law, Robert and Shelley Baker 
of Berkley; grandchildren, Keira 
Dunbar, Lily Malamis, Matthew 
Malamis, Jarett Greenstein, Jack 
Greenstein, Whitney Tower 
Woods; many other cherished 
relatives and deep lifelong 
friends. 
Mr. Baker was the beloved 
husband of the late Carol Fisher 
Baker and the late Marsha 
Greenstein Baker; loving son of 
the late Anne Wilner Baker and 
the late Jerry Baker. 
Contributions may be made 
to Adat Shalom Synagogue, 
29901 Middlebelt Road, 
Farmington Hills, MI 48334. 
A funeral service was held at 
Hebrew Memorial Chapel. 
Interment took place at Adat 
Shalom Cemetery in Livonia.
