Company. 
David became a successful 
real estate developer later in 
his life. He was proud that 
his creativity through real 
estate development employed 
hundreds of people. David was 
most proud of the closeness 
of his family and his children’s 
and his grandchildren’s 
academic and athletic 
achievements.
He was the beloved husband 
of Sydney L Rose for 56 years; 
cherished father of Scott 
(Rachel) Rose, Stephanie (Dr. 
Joshua) Goldberg, and Carrie 
(Dr. Frederic) Goldman; 
proud grandfather of Aaron 
and Ryan Rose, Spencer, Sadie 
and Hannah Goldberg, and 
Eliza and Nathan Goldman; 
dear brother-in-law of William 
(Victoria) Becker and Julie 
Becker. 
Mr. Rose was the devoted 
son of the late Emil and the 

late Shirley Rose; devoted son-
in-law of the late Lawrence 
and Mildred Becker.

Hills, died May 1, 
2023. 
He is survived 
by his parents, 
Amy and Michael Weber; 
brother, Jeremy Weber; other

Justin was the grandson of 
the late Zoli and the late Agi 
Rubin; nephew of the late 
Randy Rubin. 
Interment took place at 
Oakview Cemetery in Royal

GARY S. 
ZELTZER, 71, 
former Detroiter 
of Port 
Washington, N.Y., 
died on April 8, 
2023, after a 7½-year battle 
with dementia.
Since 1975, Gary was an 
investment portfolio manager 
based in New York City. 
Following his parents’ 
(the late George M. and 
Pearl Zeltzer) commitment 
to Jewish culture and 
philanthropy, Gary served as 
a board member and two-
term treasurer of Port Jewish 
Center in Port Washington, 
as well as a board member 
and treasurer of the National 
Foundation for Jewish Culture. 
He was a board member, 
treasurer and president of The 
Landmark on Main Street in 
Port Washington, as well as a 
Hadassah associate.
A graduate of Ferndale 
High School, Gary earned 
his B.A. from Michigan State 
University and an M.B.A. 
from Wayne State University. 
His Jewish education began at 
the Sholem Aleichem Institute 
in Detroit. 
Gary is survived by his 
loving wife of 50 years, Janice; 

sons, Marc (Miha) and Joe; 
grandchildren, Medby and 
Marley, all of Los Angeles; 
his brothers, David (Livia 
Stein) of Oakland, Calif., 
Elliot (Susan) of Farmington 
Hills, and Jeremy (Kevin 
Dennis) of West Bloomfield 
Township. He is also survived 
by Janice’s three siblings and 
their spouses, many nephews, 
nieces, great-nephews and 
great-nieces throughout the 
country. 
Services were held on April 
13 in Port Washington.
