rwin and Lauri Weinfeld and 
Elliot and Susan Zeltzer 
announce the engage-
ment of their children, Jaime 
Rebekkah Weinfeld and Paul 
David Zeltzer.
Jaime received her bach-
elor’s degree in theater and 
costume design at Denison 
University. She owns and 
operates her own wedding 
planning and photography 
business. Jaime is the grand-
daughter of the late George and the late Janet Weinfeld, 
and the late James Pierson and the late Joan Ebenhoch.
Paul received his bachelor’s degree in biosystems 
engineering and his master’s degree in food safety and 
toxicology from Michigan State University. He works as 
a quality coach for Kellogg Company in Battle Creek. 
Paul is the grandson of the late Mike and the late Pearl 
Zeltzer, and the late Bernie and the late Gigi Cohen.
Paul and Jaime reside in Kalamazoo. A May wedding 
is planned at Tam-O-Shanter Country Club.

atherine Sattler of West 
Bloomfield will mark her 
99th birthday on May 6, 
2023. Katherine, a Holocaust 
survivor, will be at Volare’s in 
Wixom to celebrate her incred-
ible life survival, immigration 
from Czechoslovakia to Los 
Angeles, her work with Edith 
Head in the movie industry, 
followed by her work with Ruth 
Joyce (couturier to the Ford 
family) and having raised her 
family in Oak Park/Southfield. She has very special fami-
ly members who are traveling from California and Illinois 
who will join her Michigan family in celebrating this 
strong and resilient woman.

Bloomfield on Saturday, May 
6, 2023. He will be joined in 
celebration by his sister Lola. 
Jonah is the loving grand-
child of Lynn and the late 
John Kachalla, and the late 
Julia and the late Leonard 
Abrams. 
He is a student at James 
R. Geisler Middle School in 
Walled Lake. Jonah’s most 
meaningful mitzvah project 
was volunteering with Make 
A Wish Foundation. 

Aliyah Rose 
Cohen, daughter 
of Samara and 
Nathan Cohen, 
will be called to 
the Torah as a 
bat mitzvah at Adat Shalom 
Synagogue in Farmington 
Hills on Saturday, May 6, 
2023. She will be joined in 
celebration by her brother 
Blaine. Aliyah is the loving 
grandchild of Linda and Ron 
Cohen, and Susan and 
Gordon Shlom.
She is a student at West 
Hills Middle School in 
Bloomfield Hills. Aliyah’s 
most meaningful mitzvah 
project was organizing a 
Cards for Kidz campaign to 
send 100 uplifting messages 
to hospitalized children.

Goodman, son of 
Jamie and Erik 
Goodman, will be 
called to the 
Torah as a bar 
mitzvah at Temple Israel in 
West Bloomfield on Friday, 

May 5, 2023. He will be 
joined in celebration by his 
sisters Rebekah and 
Arabella. Cameron is the lov-
ing grandchild of Francine 
and Marc Wise, the late 
Michael Goodman, and 
Brenda and the late Jack 
Arnold. He is the adoring 
great-grandchild of the late 
Roselyn and the late Sam 
Gonte, the late Emma and 
the late Grandville White, the 
late Barbara and the late 
Fred Goodman, and the late 
Connie and the late Marshall 
Wise. 
Cameron is a student at 
West Bloomfield Middle 
School. His most meaningful 
mitzvah project was volun-
teering with Project Linus, 
where he made blankets for 
children in hospitals, shelters 
and social service agencies 
around the country.

Nathan Eli Katz, 
son of Dr. Phillip 
and Melissa 
(Levine) Katz of 
Farmington Hills, 
will lead the con-
gregation in prayer as he 
becomes a bar mitzvah at 
Temple Israel in Columbus, 
Ohio, on Saturday, May 6, 
2023. He will be joined in 
celebration by his brother 
Austin. Nathan is the adoring 
grandson of Hope Katz, the 
late Nathan Eli Katz, 
Maureen (Lax) and Bruce 
Levine.
He is a student at 
Columbus Academy in Ohio. 
His most meaningful mitzvah 
project was feeding those in 
need at a homeless shelter.

Rothenberg will 
be called to the 
Torah as a bar 
mitzvah on May 

6, 2023, at Congregation 
Shaarey Zedek in 
Southfield. He is the son of 
Sara (Zuckman) Rothenberg 
and Jeff Rothenberg, and 
the grandson of Kathleen 
and Sol Rothenberg, Ralph 
Zuckman and Jill Lake, and 

the late Ann Zuckman. 
Mason is a student at 
James Geisler Middle 
School in Walled Lake. 
For his mitzvah project, 
he volunteered at West 
Bloomfield-based Friendship 
Circle’s Sunday Circle.
