CHARLES B. 
GOLDFARB, 93, 
of Detroit, died 
April 19, 2023. 
Everyone will 
miss him deep-
ly and lovingly 
remember his unique person-
ality, wit, intelligence, skills and 
charm. He was an entrepreneur 
from age 12 on, carried on and 
grew a successful family busi-
ness for 66 years until he retired 
at age 90. 
A proud veteran of the 
Korean War, Chuck passed 
away at age 93, still strong and 
self-determined until the end. 
He lived a good long life, well 
spent. He leaves more friends 
than can be numbered. He will 
be missed; there will never be 
another.
Mr. Goldfarb was the beloved 
husband of Sharon Tevis Finch; 
cherished father of Carin Beth 
Goldfarb and Steven Schreier, 
Amy Jo and Jared Zerman, 
and Julie Goldfarb Hantman-
Rose and Jeffrey Rose; proud 
grandfather of Abigail Hannah 
Schreier, Harrison Alexander 
Hantman and his fiancee, 
Amanda Vitale, Tyler Edward 
Hantman, Mitchell Baron 
Zerman, and Adam Elijah 
Zerman; special uncle of Jeffrey 
and Jane Goldfarb, Michael 
and Sherry Goldfarb, Stuart 
Earl Schafer, Bruce and Sara 
Goldfarb, and Cathy Ann 
Schafer and Dan Palubniak; 
adoring great-uncle of Anne, 
David, Megan and Alexander 
Goldfarb, and April Schafer 
(fiance Jason Woods). He is also 
survived by Flora Goldfarb, his 
fond former wife and mother 
of his children, and many dear 
friends.
He was predeceased by his 

parents, Harry M. and Matilda 
Toby Goldfarb; sister and 
brother-in-law, Arline and 
Max Schafer; brothers and 
sister-in-law, Albert Arthur 
Goldfarb, and Irwin Leonard 
and Florence Goldfarb; niece, 
Cynthia Goldfarb; nephew, 
Brian Goldfarb; great-niece, 
Jamie Lynn Schafer.
Interment was at Beth El 
Memorial Park. Contributions 
may be made to Temple Israel, 
re: a fund to be established in 
Chuck’s memory, 5725 Walnut 
Lake Road, West Bloomfield,

GROSBERG, 101, 
of Oak Park, died 
April 16, 2023. 
She is survived 
by her daughters, 
Pamela Opperer 
and Ilene Lee; grandchildren, 
Joshua (Rachel) Opperer, Amy 
Brode, Daniel Lee and Maggie 
Lee; great-grandchildren, Oren 
and Aden Opperer, Asher 
and Elie Brode; sister, Lenore 
Schneiderman. She is also 
survived by her dear caregiv-
ers, Ruslana Budahova, Judith 
Linting; and many loving niec-
es, nephews, other family mem-
bers and friends. 
Mrs. Grosberg was the moth-
er-in-law of the late Anthony 
Lee. 
Interment took place at 
Machpelah Cemetery in 
Ferndale. Contributions may 
be made to the Farber Hebrew 
Day School, to Hillel Day 
School or to the Leukemia 
and Lymphoma Society.
