and sister. Phyllis will be missed 
by all who knew her.
She was a teacher/Hebrew 
school teacher for many years 
and went back to receive her 
Ph.D. in instructional perfor-
mance technology from Wayne 
State University. Phyllis was a 
dedicated volunteer for Magen 
David Adom, Hillel Day School 
and Hadassah.
Phyllis is survived by her 
daughter and son in law, Shari 
and Kenneth Stein; son and 
daughter-in-law, Brad and 
Rachel Beaver; grandchildren, 
Mara and Hannah Stein, and 
Lindsey, Marley, Finley and 
Jessica Beaver; husband of 28 
years, Leonard Horwitz.
Interment was held at Beit 
Shemesh Cemetery, Israel.
