Renu Acupuncture’s Approach
Is Personal And Different For Every Body
I

f you struggle with chronic
pain or stress and anxiety,
Valentina Anikeyeva has
dedicated her career to helping
you. Owner of Birmingham’s
newly opened Renu Acupuncture,
Valentina has over 25 years of
experience in both western and
eastern medicine and is passionate
about using her unique skill set to
help people improve their well-be-
ing and live pain-free without the
harmful side effects of drugs.
“I love seeing the reaction
of my patients when they get
results,” Valentina says. “It’s what
drives me every day. I see peo-
ple from all walks of life with all
different ailments and I can give
them relief.”
Renu treats a wide range of
conditions from sports injuries to
post-surgery pain to sciatica and
lower back and neck pain to knee
pain to headaches, migraines and
stress, and more.
What makes Renu
Acupuncture different from
others is largely a culmination of
three things.
First is Valentina’s breadth
of education and experience,
which spans 25 years and two
continents. Valentina holds
degrees from both Belarusian
State Medical University and
New York College of Health
Professions. She is Board Certified
(NCCAOM) and Licensed in the
states of Michigan, New York
and Florida and holds certifica-
tions in Advance Constitutional
Facial Acupuncture, Spa/
Facial Acupuncture, Pandemic
Preparedness Health (PPHC), and
Advanced Treatments of Spine
Injuries and Pain Management.
Having moved to the U.S. in her
third year of medical school, she’s
able to draw from different cul-

tural practices and perspectives
to determine what works for each
patient.
“Every person’s body is so dif-
ferent and each of my clients has
their own unique journey that
brings them to me,” she says. “It’s
very personal, and I approach
the treatments this way. I can
combine different techniques and
develop extremely tailored and
customized treatments.”
She also has found herself in a
uniquely qualified position in the
state of Michigan due to new leg-
islation requirements. Until 2019
there was no license regulation to
practice Acupuncture in the state.
Now Michigan requires NCCAOM
Board Certification. Since this is
a recent development there are
very few board-certified licensed
Acupuncturists in Michigan, and
Valentina is one of them.
The second thing that makes
Renu different is Valentina’s holis-
tic perspective and approach.
She says, “I look at the whole
person to determine where the
pain might be coming from.
Sometimes pain comes from a
direct incident, like an auto acci-
dent or surgery. But other times
it’s rooted in emotional trauma
which manifests itself as pain. I
see this a lot, and have the ability
to develop treatment plans for
both that can improve well-being
and overall health.”
Differentiating her even further
is the fact that Valentina has had
her own journey with pain and
anxiety that put her on the receiv-
ing end of a treatment she was
originally skeptical of.
Having immigrated to the U.S.
while suffering back pain and
anxiety, Valentina was also preg-
nant. Her uncle introduced her
to Acupuncture and that defined

her health and her career path.
Renu offers the following ser-
vices:
• Acupuncture
• Electro-Acupuncture
• Cupping
• Cupping Massage.
• Cbd And Aromatherapy
Treatments
• Shockwave Therapy
Regarding treatment plans
and duration, Valentina
approaches everyone differently
saying “My goal is to get patients
to a point where they are feel-
ing so good they don’t have to
come back regularly, but it really
depends on the patient.”
When asked about new
patients’ reactions, Valentina
says, “They are usually sur-

prised. Most walk into their first
treatment a bit skeptical, but
acupuncture combined with my
other services helps to release
endorphins, ease pain, and pro-
mote circulation and blood flow,
all of which speed up recovery
and many other things. Simply
put, it makes people happy and
that’s what makes me happy.
Regarding the future of Renu
Acupuncture, Valentina says,
“The more people I can help to
reduce pain, stress, and anxiety
and improve their well-being
and health the better. I look for-
ward to it.”
