SHEILA 
KOVALSKY (nee 
Bensman), passed 
away on March 7, 
2023, in San 
Rafael, Calif., 
surrounded by her children. 
Sheila was born Sept. 2, 

1935, to Samuel and Lillian 
Bensman in Detroit. She 
married Henry Kovalsky in 
1956 and they were together 
until his death in 1986. 
After leaving Michigan, 
Sheila lived in Bradenton, 
Fla., Port St. Lucie, Fla., and 
then San Rafael, Calif. 
Sheila is survived by her 
children, Mark (Paula) of 
Port St. Lucie, Sharon (Jon) 
of San Rafael and Jim (Sheri) 
of West Palm Beach, Fla. 
She leaves grandchildren, 
Kathryn, Brian, Alex, 
Amy and Leo; great-
grandchildren, Madilyn, 
Emmalyn, Aaron, Mason and 
Carson. 
A private family service 
is planned. Contributions 
in her memory may be 

sent to Jewish Community 
and Family Services of the 
Suncoast at jfcs-cares.org. 

EARL MEYERS, 
91, of Farmington 
Hills, died March 
2, 2023. 
He is survived 
by his beloved 
wife of 67 years, Elaine 
Meyers; daughter and son-
in-law, Loraine and David 
Tomczak; brother and sister-
in-law, Marvin and Mary 
Meyers; brother-in-law, Al 
Lewis; many loving cousins, 
nieces, nephews, other family 
members and friends. 
Mr. Meyers was the father 
of the late Michael Meyers 
and the late Neil Meyers; 
brother of the late Carl 

“Butch” (the late DeeDee) 
Meyers and the late Norma 
Lewis. 
Contributions may be 
made to a charity of one’s 
choice. Interment took 
place at Workmen’s Circle
