‘SCULPTED SHADOW’

“Sculpted Shadow” is
presented by New Music
Detroit at the Cranbrook
Art Museum, 39221
Woodward, Bloomfield
Hills. It is a musical
interpretation of Scott
Hocking’s Detroit Night, a
series of photographs of
Detroit seen in shadow,
streetlamps and the
silence of night. The
program begins with
Pixelation by Daniel
Wohl, a work of blurry
vision yet containing
an underlying rhythmic
clarity, leading into Linda
Buckley’s piece for solo
piano and electronics,
Fridur, puncturing the
darkness with luminosity.
This musical program

SHORT FILMS

At the Detroit Film Theater
in the DIA in Detroit.
Combining all the Oscar
nominees in both the short
animation and short live-
action categories into one

conversion of Iberian Jews
in the late 14th and 15th
centuries, initially triggered
by the anti-Jewish riots
that swept Castile and
Aragon in 1391, led to
distinctive and identifiable
food and eating practices
among those Jews
who were compelled to
embrace the Christian
