HOW TO SUBMIT ANNOUNCEMENTS
Mazel Tov! announcements are welcomed for members of the
Jewish community. Anniversaries, engagements and weddings
with a photo (preferably color) can appear at a cost of $18 each.
Births are $10. There is no charge for bar/bat mitzvahs or for
special birthdays starting at the 90th.

Goldberg-Lewin
L

aura and Andrew Goldberg of
West Bloomfield are delighted
to announce the engagement
of their daughter Dana to Mathew
Lewin, son of Terri and Stanton
Lewin of Glencoe, Ill. Dana is the
granddaughter of Marilyn Goldberg
and the late Dr. Darryl Goldberg, and
Marilyn and Jerold Hoskow. Matthew
is the grandson of Philip and Binnie
Kanne Lewin, Jerome Sugarman and
the late Penny Sugarman, and the
late Judith Lewin.
Dana is a registered dietician and graduated from Case
Western University with a bachelor’s degree and a master
of science in nutrition. She is an account executive with a
healthcare company in Chicago.
Matthew graduated from DePaul University with a bachelor’s
degree in PR and advertising and from the University of
Denver with a master of arts in marketing communication; he
is pursuing his MBA at the University of Illinois-Champaign.
He is an associate vice president with a financial institution in
Chicago.
Following a June wedding at North Shore Congregation
Israel in Glencoe, the couple will reside in the Chicago
suburbs.

Schafer-Finn
S

amantha Schaefer and
Greg Finn were married
Jan. 21, 2023, in Ferndale
at the Rust Belt Market. The
wedding was officiated by
Stephen J. Stawicki in a beautiful
ceremony honoring both of their
individual faiths and who they
are as a couple.
Samantha is the daughter of
Julie Schaefer of Southfield and
Todd Schaefer of Oak Park. Greg
is the son of Linda and Brian
Finn of Waterford. Both sets of parents participated in the
ceremony, along with the bride’s sister, Natalie Schaefer, who
served as maid of honor, and the groom’s brother, Bradley
Finn, who served as best man. Also participating in the
ceremony were the bride’s brother, Scott Schaefer, and the
groom’s sister, Haley Olson.
Samantha and Greg were deeply blessed to have the
bride’s grandparents, Rhea and Karl Schaefer of Southfield,
in attendance, along with many loving aunts, uncles, cousins
and friends joining the celebration from near and far.
Samantha and Greg reside in Oak Park, a city toasted
during the festivities for being the first home of the bride’s
parents and families, as well as the groom’s father and family.

Max Harper Ganezer (Moshe Yosef Asher) will be
called to the Torah as a bar mitzvah on March 4,
2023, at Adat Shalom Synagogue. He is the son
of Beth Goldberg and David Ganezer, and the
brother of Jack. Grandparents are Nate and
Nancy Goldberg, and Eileen and the late Murray
Ganezer.
Max is a student at Bloomfield Hills Middle School where
he can often be found emptying bins for the school recycling
program as part of Be the Change.
