the complex
relationship
between progressive politics
and its impact on the atti-
tudes toward Jewish people,
Zionism and the State of
Israel. This open dialogue
will be moderated by Rabbi
Aaron Starr of Congregation
Shaarey Zedek.
Lupovitch is a fourth-gen-
eration Detroiter. He is the
director of the Cohn-Haddow
Center for Judaic Studies at
Wayne State University. His
latest book, Transleithanian
Paradise: A History of
the Budapest Jewish
Community, was published
last fall.
A passionate advocate of
the free expression of ideas
and Israel, David Bernstein
is the founder of the Jewish
Institute for Liberal Values
(JILV), which supports
liberal values in and out of
the Jewish community, and
author of Woke Antisemitism:
How a Progressive Ideology
Harms Jews. He is also a
co-founder of the Institute for
Liberal Values, a consortium
of like-minded organizations
supporting liberal principles.
