NORMAN HEARSHEN, 81, of Southfield, died Feb. 3, 2023. He is survived by his children, Arlene (Steven) Schreiber and Marcy (Eric) Cameron; grandchildren, Jason (Stephanie) Schreiber, Ellie Schreiber, Kim Schreiber, Kyle (Emily Iloff) Cameron, Kevin Cameron; honorary grandchild, Lily Davidson; great-grandchildren, Bode and Ava Schreiber and Charlotte Cameron; brother, Joel (Nancy) Hearshen; sister, Fern (Mike) Halem; brother-in-law, Steven (Sandy) Davidson; many loving nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Mr. Hearshen was the beloved husband of the late Elaine Hearshen. Interment was held at Clover Hill Park Cemetery in Birmingham. NICHOLAS ZEEV KERIN, 84, of West Palm Beach, Fla., passed away Feb. 5, 2023. Born in Bacau, Romania, Nicholas emigrated from Israel to the United States, residing first in Cleveland, Ohio, where he completed his fellowship in cardiology at Case Western Reserve University, and later, in Bloomfield Township and West Bloomfield for nearly 40 years. Since 1976, Dr. Kerin worked in the Detroit area as a cardiologist at Sinai Hospital, the Detroit Medical Center and Botsford Hospital. He had a faculty appointment at Wayne State University. Dr. Kerin’s distinguished career was buoyed by his passion for writing and research and includes the publication of more than 100 journal articles as well as contributions to chapters in medical textbooks. Dr. Kerin is survived by his spouse of 57 years, Jeny Kerin; his daughters, Dolly (Gary) Weisserman and Iris Kerin Orbuch; his son, Daniel Ancel Kerin; his grandsons, Drew Liron Weisserman and Simon Herschel Weisserman; granddaughters, Alexandra Lily Orbuch and Olivia Violet Orbuch. Nicholas was preceded in death by his father, Leon Abramovici, and mother, Lily Gutman. A funeral service was held Feb. 9, 2023, at IJ Morris at Star of David of the Palm Beaches, 9321 Memorial Park Road, Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33412.
