middle school trips. Mallory
is always expressing her
excitement about the “Hillel
magic” that the students will
come to appreciate, whether
in the moment or as they
head onto their next chapter.
Her dedication to
supporting students as they
realize their own Jewish
identities, and her overall love
of Hillel, is clearly innate. She
infuses these passions into
everything she does to build
students skills, confidence and
character.
Mallory earned her
undergraduate degree in
elementary education, with
a specialization in learning
disabilities, from Michigan
State University. A lifelong
resident of the Metro Detroit
area, she now resides in
Birmingham.
She is always looking for
new restaurants to try and
small businesses to support.
Mallory plays in a weekly
canasta group and looks
forward to it every Tuesday.
MARISA
MEYERSON
Marisa
Meyerson
(she/her) is
the director
of operations
at The Well,
an innovative and inclusive
Jewish community-building
organization for young adults
in their 20s and 30s in Metro
Detroit. In this role, Marisa
oversees programming,
communications and internal
systems, but finds the most
joy in connecting with
community members over
coffee.
Marisa was born in the
San Francisco Bay Area but
relocated to Metro Detroit
with her family as a teenager.
She earned her bachelor’s
of arts in psychology from
Michigan State University
with minors in religious
studies and women and
gender studies.
While working at The Well,
she returned to MSU for
her master’s of social work,
focusing on clinical social
work. During the program,
she completed an internship
with Kadima, now part of
Gesher Human Services
(formerly JVS), where she
provided in-person and
virtual therapy for individuals
and groups. While her role
at The Well has evolved
since her start in 2018, she
enjoys finding occasional
opportunities to put on her
“social worker hat.
”
An audiobook enthusiast,
Marisa can often be found in
the car as she splits her time
between Metro Detroit, where
her family lives in Commerce,
and Lansing, where she lives
with her partner, Aaron,
their cat, and two freshwater
aquariums full of fish.
She’s always checking
out new coffee shops and
restaurants, but the DIA is one
of her favorite spots to visit.
She is a bit of a geography
nerd and can name and
locate all 197 countries. She’s
currently working on learning
all the capitals — she has
about 165 of 197 down.
