Renee was born in Detroit on
Sept. 30, 1947, to her adoring
parents, Dr. Samuel Kahn and
Mrs. Shirley Kahn. She was also
the beloved younger sibling to
Herbert Kahn.
Renee was a devoted wife and
loving mother while carving out
a successful career in real estate.
Her success was based on her

unique ability to connect with
others. She made anyone she
encountered feel like a friend
and people trusted her.
She cared deeply for those
around her. Through her gen-
erosity and kindness, she was
awarded with many deep and
enduring friendships through-
out her life.
Renee married the love of
her life, Dennis Porvin, Feb.
15, 1974. Their marriage lasted
nearly 49 years. Together, they
raised a beautiful family and
created a loving home. They
loved to entertain, tackle home
improvement projects and
travel. They retired to Phoenix
in 2011. There, Renee became
a bubbie. She had three grand-
sons who became the lights of
her life.
Renee was often described as

a force of nature who knew how
to make people laugh and who
loved life. She brought love and
laughter into the family’s lives.

husband, Dennis; her children,
Stacey Stocks (Jim), Dr. Brian
