To celebrate Israel’s 75th
birthday, ACHI, American
Communities Helping Israel,
is launching “2023: Year of
the Klee.”
ACHI is encouraging
everyone to have a KLEE in
their home to show support
for Israel. Klee stands for
“Klee L’ezrat Yisroel,” a vessel
to help Israel. The idea is
to dedicate a plate, bowl,
mug, or platter to fill with
products from Israel.
There are three ways to
make a Klee
• Take something you
already have and designate it
as a Klee
• Buy a new dish from an
Israeli company to use as a
Klee
• Make your own Klee.
This can be made from
scratch on a pottery wheel or
can be formed by decorating
a new dish with paint or
permanent markers.
Once you have your Klee,
make sure to keep it filled
with Israel-made products
and display it in your home,
office, or school. You can
purchase the products at
local stores that carry Israeli
products, at www.achi613.
org or directly from stores in
Israel.
“By making the Klee
commitment to fill a
dedicated dish with products
from Israel, we are changing
BDS to Buy, Display and
Support Israel,” the ACHI
Team explains.
Once you have your
Klee, make sure to post
it on social media with
#MyKLEE and tag @
ACHIforIsrael on Instagram
and ACHI:American
Communities Helping Israel
on Facebook.
Supported through the generosity of The Jewish Fund and the D. Dan and Betty Kahn Family Foundation.
